I visited The Garage in Norwich to take part in a Creative Wellbeing Project session.
The session provided a welcoming space to get creative, meet others, and take time to slow down. What stood out was how inclusive it felt, with no experience needed, only a willingness to join in.
The Creative Wellbeing Project harnesses the power of creativity to support mental health and wellbeing, bringing people together through art, conversation, and shared activities. It also offers opportunities to volunteer, share skills, and connect with the wider community through public workshops.
The Garage is a Norfolk-based performing arts charity with spaces in Norwich and King’s Lynn. It runs dance, drama, and music classes for all ages and abilities, alongside community programmes and artist development. Its focus is on using art to support young people and those facing challenges.
I left with a clear sense of how valuable spaces like this are in strengthening community and wellbeing
