Saudi Arabia has executed Reprieve clients Abdullah Al-Derazi, a child defendant, as well as Mohamed Saad and Omar Sherif, two Egyptian nationals on death row for non-lethal drug offences. These executions took the death toll in Saudi Arabia to over 300 lives claimed in 2025, amidst a devastating execution crisis.

I joined other MPs to call on the Minister for the Middle East to speak out against these executions, and urge Saudi Arabia to end the use of the death penalty for child defendants and non-lethal drug offences.

Our letter also calls on the Government to provide written assurances that the UK is not supporting the Saudi justice system in ways that could enable such executions.
