Clive Lewis For Norwich South

I visited English +, a fantastic charity in Norwich that helps new communities learn English and build friendships. Their welcoming and inclusive lessons create a safe space for people from any background, regardless of their spoken or written English level.
What started in 2011 as a single weekly class with just four students has now grown to support over 300 people from more than 50 nationalities—a testament to the vital role English + plays in helping people feel part of the local community.
As Norwich continues to welcome new communities, the need for support has grown, too. That’s why English + works closely with New Routes and Bridge + as part of the Norwich Integration Partnership, strengthening networks between local charities to provide the best possible services for those who need them.
This kind of work can be life-changing, helping people overcome language barriers, build confidence, and create lasting connections.
