I visited a project run by Ripple Acts, a Norwich-based social enterprise that supports individuals who have been long-term unemployed. Through its structured eight-week programmes, Ripple Acts provides cognitive behavioural coaching, practical project work, and a supportive environment to help participants regain confidence, rediscover their passions, and take meaningful steps towards employment.
During my visit, I observed a work experience project where participants renovated a detox room for Change, Grow, Live (a health and social care charity), transforming the space into a welcoming and supportive environment for its users.
Speaking with the participants, many shared how these sessions have helped them rebuild confidence and provided a sense of community. For many, Ripple Acts offers a valuable social space where they can connect with others facing similar challenges, develop new skills, and feel empowered to re-enter the workforce.
