I have signed Early Day Motion 757, which rejects the proposals for Gaza by President Trump on 4 February 2025. This motion calls on the Government unequivocally to reject such proposals and take action to oppose any efforts to forcibly displace and ethnically cleanse Palestinians from Gaz. I understand the need for diplomacy, especially given the current administration in the US. But diplomacy cannot be an excuse for silence in the face of ethnic cleansing—because that’s exactly what Trump’s proposals amount to. This is a clear moral and legal red line.

Either you stand for international law and basic human decency, or you don’t. It’s that simple. And if you can’t take a stand on this, then where will you ever draw the line?
