Clive Lewis For Norwich South
I recently hosted online roundtable discussions on the Assisted Dying Bill, which would give people in England and Wales the right to choose to end their lives. It’s an important and sensitive issue, and I’ve heard various views from constituents who both support and oppose the proposed legislation.
I want to thank everyone who participated in the discussion. Both sides came in good faith, expressing their opinions from a place of care and humanity. Their contributions highlighted the importance of balancing compassion with the ethical and practical complexities of assisted dying.
Participants raised a wide range of issues and concerns, which I will bring to the attention of Bill’s proposer, Kim Leadbeater MP.
I have decided to vote for the Bill, but if you would like me to pass on your views, please get in touch ASAP; the Bill will be debated and voted on in Parliament on 29th November.
