Clive Lewis For Norwich South
I visited the YMCA Norfolk’s primary hostel in Norwich, where I learned about the incredible work they do supporting young people across the region.
YMCA Norfolk is a charity that offers a range of services including housing, support and advice, health and wellbeing, and youth development programs aimed at helping individuals reach their full potential.
During my visit, I met with some of the residents living at Norwich Central Hostel. Listening to their stories and experiences using YMCA’s services was truly inspiring. It’s clear that the charity is making a real difference in helping people rebuild their lives and find stability.
YMCA Norfolk raised some concerns about the ongoing recruitment challenges they are facing due to recent visa changes. They emphasised the need for more efforts and funding to support youth workers, as early intervention is key to preventing the issues many young people face.
So grateful for the warm welcome and the chance to hear about the positive impact they are having in our community.
