I have co-sponsored Early Day Motion 115, tabled by Neil Duncan-Jordan MP and titled “Social Fund Winter Fuel Payment Regulations 2024.”

This Motion notes that colder homes make older people more susceptible to poor health, including hyperthermia and respiratory or circulatory disease. It calls on the Government to postpone the ending of Winter Fuel Payments and establish a comprehensive strategy to tackle fuel poverty, health inequality and low incomes among older people.

Access to affordable energy and the impact of fuel poverty are key issues that I will continue to stand up for inside and outside of Parliament.
