Clive Lewis For Norwich South
It’ll be a relief for many in Norwich that the Household Support Fund will be extended by the Labour government.
When I wrote to the Chancellor asking her to extend the Fund, I highlighted how many in Norwich see this support as a lifeline. I said that should the support come to an end, many more families will be pushed into poverty.
Although this is great news, there’s much more to be done to tackle poverty and disadvantage in our city, so I’m pleased the Government has already set up a Child Poverty Taskforce. I’ve been working with local anti-poverty and financial exclusion organisations to ensure the Government knows what we need here in Norwich.
