Today I watched and listened to the King’s Speech, where the new Labour government’s priorities for the months ahead were laid out.

Amongst other things, I was pleased to see the announcement of Great British Energy, a publicly owned clean power company which will help boost investment in renewable energy.

Along with GB Energy, recognising that the climate crisis and the cost of living crisis are linked is something I have always argued for. It demonstrates the importance of a just transition away from fossil fuels not just for the planet, but for people too.

Although it’s a pencil sketch, compared to what we’ve experienced in the last 14 years this is a veritable feast.
