I spoke to Sky News
I spoke to Sky News' Laura Bundock about the growing republican movement in the UK

Ahead of the 1st anniversary of King Charles III, Sky News asked me for my thoughts on a growing republican movement in the UK.

I told Sky: “I think a lot of the younger generations are looking at their lives, at the housing market, job insecurity and the cost of living crisis, asking themselves, why do we have a monarchy? Why do I have to defer to this institution that I have no say over? I think it’s a fair question.”

I also told Sky that the monarchy is symbolic of a society that accepts it’s okay for some people to be extremely rich and privileged and for many others to not be.

An increasing number of people are standing up to say this isn’t okay, and that they’re not benefitting from it.
