Today I visited the Parliament Quilt to see how the project was coming along. This is a significant memorial to commemorate the victims of Covid-19. Contributions from up and down the country are being sewn together to create a tapestry that illustrates the struggles, loss, and shared experiences during the pandemic. The memorial also commemorates the key workers who supported us all throughout.

A big thank you goes to Norwich Nelson Ward Labour Party activist Claire Read for creating our Norwich South square, to Dawn Butler MP for initiating this project, and to Naomi who is sewing the quilt.
A reminder about the project

The purpose is to create a Parliamentary Coronavirus Memorial Quilt. It has received cross-party support and will hopefully see the Parliamentary community come together in a sign of unity, in memory of all those loved and lost during the pandemic.

The patchwork blocks that make up the quilt are being sewn together by Naomi, a crafter with 23 years of sewing experience. Naomi is a researcher at the University of Bristol.
