Clive Lewis For Norwich South
This week I joined protestors outside of the Houses of Parliament to call on the Government to scrap the Health and Care Bill.
If this Government gets their way, the plans in this Bill would see the acceleration of NHS privatisation and the creation of a two-tier health care system, where access to health care is determined by whether or not you can afford it.
If we had a Government that valued democracy and the public it is meant to serve, then its priority would be a wellbeing economy where public services were put first, not the private profit of the insurance companies and private health care providers that will gain from the collapse of the NHS.
Thanks to the campaigners at We Own It Just Treatment Keep Our NHS Public who continue to fight for the NHS.
I spoke against the Health and Care Bill when it had its Second Reading in the House of Commons. You can watch my speech here.
