Letter: I call on the Foreign Secretary to evacuate Afghans who want asylum in the UK

The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan demands action in hours, not days or weeks. Action from the UK Government could provide much needed security to those now at risk from being targeted by the Taliban.
I have written to the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, to ask for a plan to be published setting out how those in Afghanistan who are now at risk of being targeted by the Taliban will be supported to leave the country.
