I speak in Elections Bill debate
There is truly no shortage of issues that the Tory’s Elections Bill could have addressed. I supported amendments to the Bill which would have deepened our democracy, such as by introducing votes at 16, and setting up a Citizens’ Assembly to consider changing our electoral system to one that is proportional and fair.

Instead of creating a politics that champions participation and people power, the Tories are pouring oil on the bonfire of democracy that is taking place not just in the UK but across the world. I spoke against the Elections Bill when it first came to the House of Commons last year, and I will vote against it today.
