Next week, on Monday and Tuesday respectively, Tory-led Norfolk County Council and Labour-led Norwich City Council will meet to set their budgets for 2021/22. Both meetings will be available to watch on the Councils’ YouTube channels.
All councils have been put in a difficult position due to a decade of underfunding of local authorities by Tory central government. But these budget meetings are set to show the difference having an innovative Labour authority, who makes decisions in the interest of the many, makes compared to a Tory authority mostly concerned with protecting their own interests.
Below, you can read more about the amendments Norfolk Labour will be putting forward at tomorrow’s County budget meeting. These amendments aim to support families, feed hungry children, back initiatives to protect the environment, reinstate a youth service and more. We’ll see tomorrow how the Tories react to these essential asks. #NorfolkDeservesBetter
