I empathise with the challenges our farmers are facing at the moment, but the use of neonicotinoids risks disastrous long-term consequences for our environment. The importance of pollinators such as bees to our food supply, biodiversity and economy cannot be understated.

I have signed Caroline Lucas MP’s cross-party letter which calls upon George Eustice, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to urgently rethink this damaging decision.
