A number of constituents have contacted me in recent days regarding the government’s intention to axe the Union Learning Fund, administered by Unionlearn.
Unionlearn supports over 200,000 workers each year: from helping people learn basic literacy and numeracy skills, through to apprenticeships and degree level qualifications. This is a vital resource which has helped boost job prospects for so many. Axing it at such a challenging time for workers is appalling.
I have signed Early Day Motion #1039 (https://edm.parliament.uk/early-day-motion/57602/unionlearn) and call upon the government to reverse this damaging decision.
Please take a few moments to sign Trades Union Congress (TUC)’s petition and help show how strongly opposed this move is: https://www.megaphone.org.uk/…/uk-gov-don-t-cut-union…
