Job Title: Constituency Caseworker for 32 hrs p/w over 4 or 5 days

Salary: £18384 for 32hrs p/w.
Job Details
- work independently on constituents’ often complex cases including liaising with government departments and agencies;
- attend surgeries and meetings as required
- ensure all data is dealt with in an accurate, sensitive and confidential manner
- competent use of IT
- some weekend and evening working may be required
- attend local asylum seeker forum and liaise with immigration, asylum seeker and refugee groups
- training will be provided in specific areas of casework
Person Specification
- Engage with people from a variety of backgrounds on the phone, by email and in person.
- Clear commitment to helping people
- Excellent IT and admin skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision as part of a small team
- Good understanding of social policy issues, with immigration knowledge an advantage
- Commitment to the aims and values of the Labour party
