In this article for The Independent, we urge the Chancellor to take this opportunity to stop using public money to fuel the climate crisis – and to ensure we don’t simply return to business-as-normal. The Green New Deal has been in gestation since before the financial crisis. It was overdue then. It’s even more urgent now, and with the need to re-imagine our economy in the wake of coronavirus, its time has surely come.
