I sign letter calling for ban on export of riot gear to US

Along with 165 colleagues (from all major parties, including the Tories), I’ve signed this letter to International Trade Secretary Liz Truss calling for an immediate end to the export of tear gas, riot shields and rubber bullets to the United States.

I condemn Donald Trump’s use of force against his own citizens – behaviour like this is fascistic, cruel, anti-democratic, and sets a dangerous precedent.

I have also signed Early Day Motion (EDM) #520 and #525: supporting the Black Lives Matter campaign, and reaffirming the need to ban the sale of riot gear to the US.
