The Foodbank in NR2 is open Sunday - Friday from 12-1pm

The past few months have been extremely tough, with the most vulnerable in our communities feeling the impact of this lockdown the hardest. Yet, I am incredibly proud of the way that our local community has pulled together in a time of crisis, providing emergency assistance to those that need it, in many different ways.

I have volunteered with the foodbank set up in NR2 a number of times, and am forever touched by the care, compassion and good will being spread around our city. Working as a partnership, the Adat Yeshua Messianic Synagogue on Essex Street, Norwich Food Hub & the NR2 covid-19 local volunteer group set up the food bank to respond to immediate need in the local area created by the COVID-19 crisis.

As well as providing emergency food parcels (both delivered and in person), they are using food that would have otherwise have gone to waste from Norwich FoodHub and regularly distribute food to other local organisations in need, such as the women’s refuge, and a number of hostels/hotels housing homeless people in Norwich.

I am incredibly proud of the communities that are pulling together in the city (and I’m sure across the country) during this crisis, and I am honoured to be the MP for such a wonderful city.

If you are in need of food for whatever reason please email NR2foodbank@gmail.com and they will arrange a delivery.

They are also open Sunday – Friday from 12-1pm (closed Saturday). The food bank is to the rear of the building, Suffolk square side.

Please help spread the word in the local area.
