Yesterday I went on BBC Politics Live to talk about Labour’s shifting Brexit position, the Tory Leadership race, Donald Trump, and the opioid crisis emerging in the UK.

Jeremy Corbyn has spent valuable time consulting with important players on the Left, from party members, to Unions and activists, and we have finally emerged as a party that will both campaign for a second referendum, and campaign to Remain a member of the European Union.

A No-Deal Brexit, as publicised by Boris Johnson, Jeremy Hunt and Nigel Farage, would be an all-out assault on our living standards, wipe out thousands of jobs, put peace in Northern Ireland at risk and push Britain into whatever race-to-the-bottom trade deal Donald Trump and his friends want to cook up.

We must now focus our attentions on ensuring that a No-Deal Brexit is not allowed to happen, and let the public decide – be it through a General Election or a Second Referendum – on the kind of future that they want to see for the United Kingdom.
