Contrary to popular belief the Govt hasn’t suffered a defeat tonight. Far from it. Instead it’s been completely and utterly, routed. It’s therefore clear Theresa May has lost whatever rapidly dissipating authority she and her Govt had left. Here are my reflections outside the Chamber immediately after the vote.

In tomorrow’s no confidence I will vote against the Government and the Prime Minister. Let’s have a General Election, get rid of this shower, and campaign for a Labour Government that can bring our country together.
