Clive Lewis For Norwich South

One in four community pharmacies could shut with smaller, independent pharmacies hardest hit because of £170 million Tory cuts to the community pharmacies budget.
Independent pharmacies will be hit the hardest. At a time when increasing strain is being put on GP surgeries, A&E services and the NHS111 helpline, community pharmacies form a vital first port of call for many people when it comes to seeking basic help and treatment. These pharmacies should be supported in the important work they do – offering advice, treating minor ailments and promoting healthy living – not restricted so that pressure on front line and primary care services is increased.
I’ll be campaigning across Norwich on this issue – collecting petition signatures to show that the residents of Norwich strongly oppose these cuts and any potential pharmacy closures they might lead to.
