Save our Post Office at Earlham Green Lane Co-Op!
A number of constituents have been in touch with me to share their concern about the future of the Earlham Green Lane Co-Op Post Office. I am aware the current manager is due to retire early next year, after many years of service to this community, and that the Co-Op have stated they are unable to continue providing the Post Office service beyond this point.
I share these concerns, and I am working with the local University ward councillors to make sure every avenue is explored to ensure the future of a Post Office at this site. A Post Office isn’t simply a place from which to send parcels (as important as that can be): many residents rely on post offices to make payments and receive benefits, pensions and tax credits. They are community hubs. Some of the most vulnerable will be hit the hardest if this service is removed.
