I call on the Government to compensate victims of the contaminated blood scandal

I have added my name to a campaign by the Sunday Times calling on the Government to pay compensation to all those affected without delay.

After 40 years of cover-up, it’s time for justice for victims of the contaminated blood scandal. There is no excuse for further delay.

    Last year, I met with two of my constituents, both victims of contaminated blood.

    Steve was infected through contaminated blood at age 7, he now suffers from hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver.

    I also met Ben, whose mother sadly passed away as a result of infected blood.

    After meeting Steve and Ben, it became even more clear to me that compensation for the victims of contaminated blood is long overdue.
