For many families in Norwich, the Household Support Fund is a much-needed lifeline. Without it, even more families would be forced into poverty.

As the Fund is due to end this month, its proposed continuation would provide reassurance to millions of struggling families across the country, including many across Norwich.

That is why I joined Debbie Abrahams MP and a group of 90 cross-party Parliamentarians in writing to the Chancellor, asking him to commit to keeping the Household Support Fund in place.

In Norwich, 3 in 10 children are living in poverty. Should the Household Support Fund end, this number would increase significantly.

The cost of living crisis has allowed poverty to become endemic in the UK, with children suffering as a result. It is vital that children are encouraged to learn and grow, living in poverty makes this far more difficult.
