Today I visited Norwich Medical School to discuss the incredible work they do for healthcare across Norfolk and Waveney.

I got to sit down with Professor Charles ffrench-Constant, the Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, amongst other members of the various faculties to hear about some of the initiatives and training that Norwich Medical School offers to its students.

Norwich Medical School is leading the way in training people right across the spectrum in medical sciences.

I also got to speak with the Norwich Institute for Healthy Ageing (NIHA), who told me all about their sterling work which focuses on health and disease prevention in Norwich.

According to research from NIHA, people in deprived communities live almost 20 years more in poor health compared to some of the wealthiest communities. The work of NIHA aims to address the inequalities in health behaviours that cause this chasm.

Both institutions are brilliant examples of some of the amazing local initiatives and institutions operating right here in Norwich South.
