Today I visited the Castle Partnership GP Surgery on Mile End Road to discuss funding and the resilience of general practices in Norwich South.

GPs from across Norwich met with me to discuss funding concerns, healthcare provisions and GP contracts.

It was an informative meeting, once again being reminded of the incredible work that primary care services such as GPs contribute to our society.

However, our city’s health and social care services are at breaking point.

Due to over a decade of plummeting pay and underfunding of services, our city faces a vast staff recruitment crisis.

More must be done to protect NHS services, including a long-term investment plan.
