I have joined a cross-party group of MPs in supporting a series of amendments to the Victims and Prisoners Bill

Justice for the victims of the contaminated blood scandal is long overdue, and I have long advocated for the Government to ramp up action for those affected in Norwich South.

I have joined nearly 100 MPs from across the parties to add my support to a series of amendments to the Victims and Prisoners Bill.

The amendments would:

  • Extend interim compensation payments to bereaved parents, children and siblings.
  • Establish an Arms Length Body to administer final compensation payments to people infected and affected.
  • Establish a psychological support service in England for those infected and affected.

These amendments are in line with the recommendations of the Infected Blood Inquiry, chaired by Sir Brian Langstaff.
