I have tabled Early Day Motion 31, which commends the research being conducted by the Quadram Institute in Norwich Research Park.

The research being commended from the Quadram Institute is focused on conditions such as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), and Long Covid. More specifically, the research builds on evidence that these conditions have a basis in the immune system.

ME, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is a severely debilitating condition, thought to affect up to 250,000 people in the UK.

The causes of ME aren’t known, and there are no effective treatments, therefore the Motion commends the charity Invest in ME Research and its funding to the Quadram Institute to run the only current clinical trial in the UK for ME.
