Clive Lewis For Norwich South
Today I spoke and protested alongside hundreds of parents outside Norwich City Hall, demanding that SEND education be reformed. I told those at the protest that this is inherently a political issue, it is about the future of children, and about the resources we put into our education system.
The decision from the Conservative County Council not to adequately fund SEND education is a political choice, one they will pay for at the upcoming local and national elections.
The fight for SEND reform leads to the question: what kind of society do we want to be?
Those at the protest made it clear that they no longer want to live in a society where the well-being of their children is put in second place, behind the interests of the rich and powerful.
I will continue to back them in their cause.
