Following Rishi Sunak’s U-turn on net zero, it is clear that this has little to do with the environment, and more to do with wealth.

The effective tax rate on working people is the highest it has ever been. But the richest in our society, whose wealth is ballooning by tens of billions a year, are paying proportionately less tax than ever before.

This U-turn is simply a prime minister and his party protecting the interests they came into politics to look out for.
