They don’t want a pay rise. They want pay restoration. Consultants have seen their real-term take-home pay fall by over a third over the last 14 years.

The single most precious resource in the NHS is its staff, from its cleaners, to its consultants. Without them, there is no NHS, and they’re being driven out by a government insistent on overworking and underpaying our NHS staff.
