Housing is a right, not a privilege, that’s why I’m proud to see Norwich City Council engaging in “housing first” policy, using homes as a foundation to help end rough sleeping.

Prioritising getting people into stable homes, ‘Housing First’ allows for the needs of rough sleepers to be met through coordinated support.

Cate Oliver is a Norwich City Council cabinet member and responsible for the authority’s response to homelessness. She told me more about how these new homes built for rough sleepers are essential in helping ending homelessness in Norwich.

Watch this video to find out more about why these new homes are unique, and why I’d like to see more of the same.
