I’ve co-signed this letter to the Leader of the House of Commons, Jacob Rees-Mogg, demanding he gives Parliament a vote on extending the Brexit transition period.

The last vote on this issue was back in January, before the full extent and impact of the Covid-19 crisis was realised.

Our immediate priority must be stopping the spread of coronavirus and protecting individuals and businesses from its impacts. We should drop the futile transition date of 31 December to give both ourselves and the EU the time we need to tackle this public health emergency and establish the best possible deal.
