It was a privilege to speak to the hundreds – probably thousands – who attended today’s Norwich #ClimateStrike demo and march.

Thank you to the organisers who, as ever, did a brilliant job in bringing everyone together safely. And of course thank you to everyone who came along and participated so enthusaistically.

I was able to talk to the crowds about how, today, me and Caroline Lucas have put forward our Green New Deal Bill: the first attempt to legislate for a transformative GND in the UK. This Bill – which, due to parliamentary rules, is formally called ‘The Decarbonisation and Economic Strategy Bill’ – will strive towards a decarbonised future while keeping the principles of justice and equity at the core of policy.
