Clive Lewis For Norwich South
I voted for the Passenger Railway Services (Public Ownership) Bill which passed its second reading last night. This Bill would make sure that appointing a public sector train operator becomes the default option as existing contracts expire, a key part of bringing our railways back under public control.
Trains are coming back to us and we’re getting back control of buses too. The new Labour government has already made an excellent start in laying the foundations for improving and prioritising public transport. So I’m hopeful that the Minister will see the opportunities for better public transport in Norwich too if the Western Link is crossed off the list.
