Today I appeared on TRT World to discuss Labour’s plan for the UK following their election win.

We discussed a variety of topics such as Labour’s priorities on growth, the pace at which the new government has to move, as well as Keir Starmer’s commitment to raise defence spending.

On defence spending, I explained to Nick de Bois that whilst I will have to take a look at our plans, I believe that there are other ways in which we can push for a safer world outside of increasing defence spending.

I raised the issue of security and highlighted how a peaceful world means ensuring the security of all people. With conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine taking us further away from peace, understanding everyone’s needs for security is more important than ever.
