In today’s statement on the infected blood scandal from the Paymaster General John Glen, I raised the story of a constituent of mine, Steve Bartram.

Steve was infected through contaminated blood at age 7. He now suffers from hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver. He told me that the infection has been taking its toll for over 45 years.

I told the House that he and many others still felt anxious about the Government’s ability to follow through on their promises, and that he was right to feel that way.
