It is now clear that Norfolk schools won’t receive the funding promised by the Government in July.
This blunder will lop tens of thousands of pounds of the budget of every school in the county. It will be calamitous for many, especially those who have already been pushed to the precipice by years of underfunding. And as ever, the most vulnerable and disadvantaged are likely to bear the brunt with less help for special educational needs children, cuts to support staff and generally fewer adults in our children’s classrooms.
The government needs to do the decent thing now: correct this mistake and fund our schools adequately.
