This month I visited Sistema Norwich, a social action programme that uses music to transform children’s lives.

Watching the choir and orchestra, I was amazed by the talent on display.

Income should not be a barrier for a child with hopes of learning to play an instrument. Yet this is increasingly the case, with creeping cuts causing a growing inequality in access to music education.

Sistema prioritises children from communities where there is less opportunity and access. This programme is essential to ensure we do not miss out on nurturing the next generation of musical talent.
