The Tories promised no-one would lose their homes due to Covid-19. But they’ve been too slow to take action on the arrears crisis, plus their ‘eviction ban’ is full of loop-holes and due to end next month – despite the fact this pandemic is far from over.
Now, the Government needs to urgently strengthen and extend the evictions ban, provide support to help renters pay ‘Covid-arrears’ and come forward with a long-term plan to prevent a wave of evictions.
