Clive with PAIN/WASPI campaigners in Norwich
Clive with PAIN/WASPI campaigners in Norwich

It was an honour to be at the recent Norfolk Broads PAIN (Pensions Action in Norfolk) rally on the steps of City Hall, and to speak about the severe injustice faced by 2.5 million women across the country as a result of the decision to accelerate the rise in women’s state pension age.

This move has had a devastating impact on many women who were born in the 1950s. These women did not have fair notification of the changes, and many are now facing hardship and destitution as a result. It’s a badge of shame for our country that women are being forced into poverty because successive governments have made mistakes on this.

I’ll continue to support the fantastic campaigning work of Norfolk Broads PAIN, and the wider WASPI campaign who are working through parliament and all other channels to right this wrong.
