Clive and Elodie in the constituency office
Clive and Elodie in the constituency office

I had the wonderful opportunity to work at Clive Lewis’ constituency office in Norwich South for the week. Each day brought something new to learn. Research was a key task I was given to do – ranging from cystic fibrosis to the severe lack of funding towards SEND families. I always took research seriously, but this week made me aware of how my research could inspire new discussions and impact people’s lives. Another task involved writing letters to constituents. This opened me up to understanding Labour’s stances on climate change through viewing their environmental policy. In addition to activities, I was educated on the Norwich’s social mobility status, frameworks for a good business and even the city’s political history. I also learned the wonder that is oat milk! This week was enriching and rewarding as I have done tasks I never thought I would do. I am extremely grateful to Lewis and the PPL School office for the opportunity and to Career Central that has given me the confidence to apply.
