Letter to Greg Clark MP

Earlier this week Former UN general-secretary, Ban Ki Moon, came out urging Britain to stop funding fossil fuel projects overseas. Moon said he was deeply concerned that the UK’s export credit agency had provided billions of pounds in recent years to support businesses involved in oil and gas schemes around the world.

I stand in total solidarity with his message, and urge the Government to step up to the plate and recognise that the Paris Climate Agreement commitments (made by Theresa May) are being wholeheartedly undermined by this investment. This cannot continue.

To keep the pressure up on the government I have written to Greg Clark MP (the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) and Claire Perry MP (the Energy Minister within BEIS) urging them to address these concerns as a matter of urgency.
