Today, I’m ‘greened-up’ and out with East of England Ambulance Service. First call: a category 2 missing person with a possible overdose. Within seconds, the job changed to a stroke victim in Cromer. Then back to the missing person… Apparently this constant job switching is usual. Police on scene, patient stabilised and now back en-route to the N&N hospital …then was the wait for the hospital handover. At busier times than this, you can see 15+ ambulances stacked up here – dramatically affecting response times.
