Vauxhall Centre visit

The other day, I visited the Vauxhall Community Hub, Johnson Place, to meet with hard-working Independence Matters staff and local social care service users.

Since I first visisted two years ago, and as as you’ll notice in some of the photos, parts of the centre have gone from being completely packed to nearly empty. I was told this is because many users’ travel budgets have been slashed: some are now forced to stay at home seven days a week. Service users also said how they’ve had their care hours reduced, and some told me of their struggles with the harshness of PIP and ESA assessments.

It’s experiences like this that really hit home how much we need a The Labour Party government, who will make sure everyone has what they need to live life to the full and in dignity.
