Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to write/email in to me about this important campaign to #FundTheHubs. MAP will be pleased to hear I’ve had dozens of communications on this topic, and I’m working my way through responding to them all!
One in four people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their life. Half of adult mental health illnesses develop before the age of 14, so prevention and early intervention is crucial.
A network of early support hubs across the UK would make sure there was somewhere for young people to turn to if they need support or advice, without referral or appointment.
Although such hubs already exist in some areas, it’s currently a postcode lottery – and funding for these can be inconsistent and/or short-term. That needs to change; the government must #FundTheHubs.
